Privacy Policy
NextdoorSEC BV ("NextdoorSEC", "we", "us") respects your privacy and processes personal data in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Belgian data-protection law.
What we collect. When you use our contact form, request a free scan or email us, we collect the data you choose to provide, typically your name, email address, company, phone number (if given) and the content of your message. When you visit the site, our hosting provider processes technical data such as your IP address and browser user-agent in server logs for security and reliability.
Why we process it (legal basis). We use your contact details to respond to your enquiry and to provide the services you request. The legal basis is your consent and/or the taking of steps at your request prior to entering into a contract (Art. 6(1)(a) and (b) GDPR). We keep secure server logs on the basis of our legitimate interest in operating a safe website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). We only send you marketing email if you have separately opted in.
Retention. We keep personal data only for as long as necessary for the purpose it was collected: (i) enquiry and contact-form data for up to 12 months after our last contact where it does not lead to an engagement; (ii) client-engagement data for the duration of the engagement and up to 10 years thereafter, in line with the general limitation period for contractual claims under Belgian civil law; (iii) invoicing and accounting records for 7 years, as required by the Belgian Code of Economic Law; (iv) server logs containing IP addresses for a maximum of 90 days; and (v) your cookie-consent record for up to 12 months, after which we ask you again. If you have opted in to marketing email, we keep your details until you unsubscribe.
Who we share it with. We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers acting on our behalf (processors) under a data-processing agreement, for example our website host (Vercel Inc.), our transactional-email provider (Resend, which delivers contact-form submissions to us), and the scheduling tool Calendly if you choose to book a call. Some of these providers are established in the United States and may process data outside the EEA; where they do, the transfer is covered by appropriate safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses (and, where applicable, the EU–US Data Privacy Framework).
Your rights. Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify or erase your personal data, to restrict or object to processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time without affecting prior processing. To exercise any of these rights, email info@nextdoorsec.com and we will respond within one month.
Complaints. If you believe we have not handled your data lawfully, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority (Gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit), Drukpersstraat 35, 1000 Brussels — www.gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit.be.
